Thank You 2022, Here’s to 2023

Posted on December 30, 2022March 11, 2023 by johnsonlam

As we are coming to the end of 2022, I am already excitingly looking towards what’s in store for me and what I want to do in 2023. 2022 had been an awesome year for me; some ups : Traveling to Philippines and Singapore to collaborate with various communities, Facebook Accelerator Program, multiple awards bagged from Innovator of the year to top mentor of FutureLab, and some downs, and I made the biggest career change in my life by leaving the corporate world behind to build startups and community impact.

It’s clear that community building, EV chargers, solar energy, and the circular economy will play a crucial role in shaping our nation. As someone who is passionate about these issues, I believe that by focusing on these areas, we can create a more sustainable and equitable future for the community.

At the heart of all of these concepts is the idea of building strong, connected communities that can support each other and work towards common goals. Whether it’s through the installation of EV chargers that help reduce our reliance on fossil fuels in transportation, or the adoption of solar energy as a clean and renewable source of power, community-driven initiatives can have a real impact on the world around us.

But these concepts don’t just benefit communities – they also have the potential to drive economic growth and reduce our environmental impact. By transitioning to EV charging networks, for example, we can not only reduce our carbon footprint, but also support the growth of the circular economy by reducing waste and promoting the reuse of materials.

There are already numerous successful examples of these concepts in action. In many cities around the world, EV charging networks are being implemented, allowing communities to easily transition to electric vehicles and reduce their reliance on fossil fuels. Similarly, businesses are increasingly adopting circular economy principles, such as the use of recycled materials and the repair and reuse of products, as a way to reduce their environmental impact and drive economic growth; aligned with the believes we have in ChargeSingh.

Solar energy is a clean, renewable, and abundant source of power that has the potential to significantly reduce our reliance on fossil fuels. To make solar energy more accessible to everyone, it is important to encourage the use of solar panels on rooftops and other locations with access to direct sunlight, provide incentives such as tax credits and grants, promote the use of solar energy in public buildings, increase education and awareness about solar energy, and make it easier for people to access financing for solar projects. By taking these steps, we can help to bring this clean, renewable energy source to a wider range of people and reduce our reliance on fossil fuels. That’s my goal for SOLS Energy

Last but not least, not to forget life skills and repair communities which are important for a variety of reasons. Life skills, such as problem-solving, communication, and time management, help individuals to navigate daily challenges and achieve their goals. Strong life skills can lead to greater success in school, work, and personal relationships. Repair communities, on the other hand, are groups of people who come together to repair and maintain their possessions, rather than simply buying new ones. This can include repairing electronics, clothing, and other household items. Repair communities not only help individuals to save money and reduce waste, but they also foster a sense of community and connection with others. By coming together to repair and maintain their possessions, individuals can learn new skills, share knowledge, and work towards a common goal. In addition, repair communities often have a positive environmental impact, as they reduce the demand for new products and the resources required to produce them. By developing life skills and participating in repair communities, individuals can not only improve their own well-being, but also contribute to the well-being of their communities and the environment. Hence, my work in KakiDIY and KakiRepair continues and even stronger in 2023 and best of all, with combined resources with SOLS247 Group, we will be more impactful to the People, Planet and Sustainability.

As we move forward, I believe that it’s essential that we continue to focus on building strong, connected communities and transitioning to renewable energy sources. By doing so, we can create a brighter, more sustainable future for all. Happy New Year 2023.
